Mercenaries

Action

Andy Marlow, an ex British S.A.S serviceman turned mercenary, is sent into the Balkans after a military coup has arisen to rescue a U.S ambassador and his aide.

The critical consensus

All the fire power but with no substantial plot, this film will leave you feeling highly unsatisfied.

**(*)(*)(*)David Hughes, Empire Online, 23/01/2012

The plot and dialogue is borderline ridiculous and the absence of acting Oscar nominations is not exactly a scandal. But director Paris Leonti puts together some reasonably serviceable action sequences on a finite budget.

Like watching splattered paint balls dry.

Gunshots sound like they were sampled off a videogame, muzzle flashes make the whole screen flash white and they somehow managed to convince Billy Zane to briefly appear as an exasperated American colonel. He’d have been better off in panto.
