This project is the film version of the Passion play that was performed throughout Port Talbot in Easter 2011.
I loved its spirit of a fanfare.
The closest you will get to feeling like you have run a marathon, without running a marathon. Once is enough.
For the most part it works well, although having all the dialogue virtually shouted (a necessity in outdoor theatre) doesn't help.
The conceit of it is at once narcissistic and completely banal.
The film turns the production into a cacophonous bad-acid trip.
It's a version of the play staged in and around Port Talbot by Dave McKean in Easter 2011, and I found it patronising and embarrassing. However, many people present thought it profoundly moving, and for this reason the film is an invaluable record of a significant occasion.
