A story about the rise and fall of Zyga - a Polish kid in his early twenties, who wants to take charge of his life after the fall of communism, but in a time of chaos and moral anarchy, unwillingly becomes a gangster.
Fitfully entertaining.
Yuma is trying so obviously to be the Slavic Scarface – and, for a good portion of the running time, it earns that title.
It's let down by muddled plotting, a weak script and a lead that lacks the depth needed to sell this story of moral collapse. Shame.
