Set against the backdrop of a post-tsunami Thailand, Aditya Assarat's second film features Thai film star Ananda Everingham in a bittersweet tale of love, memories and belonging.
Assarat's freeform film is sometimes tantalising if noodle-baking stuff. If you can divine its meaning, take the rest of the year off.
Apparently, Ananda’s life is similar to that of Assarat, who was also born in Bangkok and was educated in America. Bearing that in mind, you’d think the filmmaker could have given his film a bit of dramatic charge.
An oddly cleansing, even affirming experience.
It's all rather familiar but well done.
