Woolcock could hardly be more sincere in her endeavours, though she stretches her interviews close to breaking point: how often can you decry the cycle of violence, the hostility of the police, the bleak prospects of Birmingham's dispossessed?

The doc's short on context, and too forgiving of its poster boys, but as a study of their commitment to bettering themselves and the community, it's inspiring.
Engaging, thoughtful, funny, fearless.
The picture covers familiar ground and tends to ramble somewhat repetitively.
