Something in the Air (15)

Drama

In the months after the heady weeks of May '68, a group of young Europeans search for a way to continue the revolution believed to be just beginning.

The critical consensus

It’s precisely because this coming-of-age story is so specific in its depiction of the era’s countercultural artifacts - whether they are underground magazines and newspapers, intricately designed record sleeves or copies of prized books - and to the disparate factions within leftwing politics, that it becomes such a credible portrait of a generation, who genuinely believed in the possibility of an imminent revolution.

It’s a shaggy, plotless story and the well-to-do liberals at its heart may grate, but its depiction of idealistic youth with all its certainties and self-absorption may well strike a chord.
