Three misfits embark on a weekend they will never forget.
The Thatcher-era detail is the only fresh element in a film that otherwise sticks to the Inbetweeners Movie template.
The jocular screenplay and period soundtrack (The Happy Mondays, New Order etc) add to the appeal of a film with echoes that stretch from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off to The Inbetweeners.
Brief high. Heavy comedown.
At its best, the film plays like a more abrasive British riposte to the John Hughes teen movies that it references.
Production standards are high enough, but, as so depressingly often with indie Britfilms, this is a script that wouldn't pass muster for any British TV series.
