Dorothy wakes up in post-tornado Kansas, only to be whisked back to Oz to try to save her old friends the Scarecrow, the Lion, the Tin Man and Glinda from a devious new villain, the Jester.
It’s a cheap and charmless reminder to leave the classics alone.
Kid-friendly with some neat visuals. Adults will appreciate the dulcet tones of Frasier as the Tin Man.
Kids may love Oz, but not the way it's handled here, a cynical cash-grab riding on the coat-tails of far better productions.
It'd be a perverse soul who spent £30 carting the family off to this, when they could pick up the all-pleasing, ever-sparkling original on DVD for a fiver.
