Documentary on the miners' strike from Owen Gower illuminates a passionately fought conflict.
This is unashamedly partisan, yet the film’s strength lies in giving voice to the conflict’s ‘losers.’
It is, as a consequence, unashamedly one-sided, although some of the footage is provocative (witness protesters going up against militarised policemen on horseback) and the interviewees’ testimonies are insightful.
A testament to the dignity that comes from standing up to giant oppressors.
Owen Gower’s film about striking miners is a heartfelt tribute to communities hammered by political forces.
