La Maison de la Radio (PG)

Documentary

Twenty-four hours in the life of Radio France, from one dawn to another.

The critical consensus

By being content simply to gaze impassively at its subject, La Maison de la Radio simply doesn't get close to the heart of this particularly fascinating home.

**(*)(*)(*)Nikki Baughan, The List, 19/01/2015

The profundity and poeticism was lost on us.

**(*)(*)(*)David Jenkins, Little White Lies, 23/01/2015

A more daring film might even have gone for a more experimental collage of sounds. Well: an interesting study of something similar to our own Radio 4.

***(*)(*)Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian, 22/01/2015

[The director's] admiration for Radio France's work and public-service ethos is self-evident, but this is a very hard film for a non-French audience to engage with.

**(*)(*)(*)Geoffrey MacNab, The Independent, 23/01/2015

A documentary about the great French radio station is intimate and affectionate.
