The critical consensus

It’s mildly entertaining up to a point, with a reasonably engaging cast, but it mainly reminds you just how brilliant the Back to the Future trilogy was, and still is.

**(*)(*)(*)Angie Errigo, The List, 16/02/2015

Sci-fi interweaved with high-school drama in an inventive way.

**(*)(*)(*)Geoffrey MacNab, The Independent, 19/02/2015

Some good effects but lumpy pacing and often indecipherable dialogue.

**(*)(*)(*)Andrew Osmond, Empire Online, 20/02/2015

Back To The Future did it so much better 30 years ago.

***(*)(*)Allan Hunter, Daily Express, 20/02/2015

Sadly, its many plot holes prevent its ideas from gaining traction and there’s an unfortunate strain of casual misogyny that’s far too redolent of producer Michael Bay’s own dismal oeuvre.

**(*)(*)(*)Alistair Harkness, The Scotsman, 21/02/2015

“You guys ever see the movie Looper?” Yeah, dude – it was way better.
