Goodnight Mommy

Drama, Mystery, Thriller

Twin boys move to a new home with their mother after she has face changing cosmetic surgery, but under her bandages is someone the children don't recognize.

The critical consensus

Haunting imagery, such as skulls being walked over, a mother admiring her bandaged face in the blowing wind, and wallpaper adorned with insects give it an otherworldly feel, as its surreal and twisted fairytale-like ambience swells to an almost overwhelmingly powerful degree.
