Moronic in the extreme. No parts here to salvage.
The presence of Gibson in this wilfully on-the-nose role isn't edgy, tongue-in-cheek or remotely funny, it's merely the biggest example of why Daddy's Home 2 is the most appalling and irresponsible film of the year. Avoid.
Ferrell fans will enjoy Daddy’s Home 2 but others will find its gloopy sentimentality very hard indeed to digest.
A dumb family comedy that isn’t funny enough to begin with.
There’s plenty to like as co-dads Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell spend the holiday with their fathers, but Gibson irradiates the film with his unfunniness.
There is nothing surprising about this sequel and some of the characters are positively obnoxious, but it is hard to resist a tear-stained singalong finale and what must be the weirdest guest appearance in recent memory.
