US action thriller in which a military unit has a few hours to transport a mysterious informant to refuge 22 miles from the US embassy.
Despite a bare-bones running time of 94-minutes, Mile 22 crams in plenty of car chases, fist-fights, double-crosses and ridiculous technobabble dialogue, while there is much to enjoy in the frenetic, splattery staging.
A tense and nasty thriller, Mile 22 is a frustrating experience that makes you wonder if Peter Berg should stick to depicting real-life tragedies instead.

Mile 22 is every bit as outrageous as it sounds. Sure, it’s trash, but it’s exceedingly well-made trash that fulfils the genre’s primary function as disreputable Friday night entertainment.
