The story of three close friends who are involved in a love-triangle.
This isn’t style without substance as Heartbeats successfully taps into the universal experiences of obsession, rejection and heartache.
Beautifully shot with a striking yet limited palette, it hits all the notes of unrequited love to the tune of Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) and Bach's Suite No 1 on cello.
A fizzing delight that tips a nod to the masters of the French New Wave without sacrificing its identity or sense of freshness. Recommended.7
Marie and Francis will come to learn that some things are more important than sex. For anybody who’s already figured that out, this hackneyed teen dream is a bit of a bore.
Dig beneath the surface...and there ain't much there.
It's certainly a slight piece, but like Nicolas it gets away with murder thanks to its surface charm and good looks.
It's beautiful to look at and this might be enough to seduce those young, beautiful hipsters to whom the film is clearly meant to appeal.
A very cheesy (translation: highly enjoyable), pop soundtrack and some nice comic touches make up for the occasional longueur and the excess of style over substance.
