Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far On Foot has its comic moments and is modestly touching but, not for the first time, it is the quiet, understated truths in Joaquin Phoenix's work that makes the film worthwhile.
Van Sant never strays far from the man-overcomes-disability genre, but this is more than made up for by some impressive directorial flourishes and an engaging central performance.
Phoenix and Hill are great, though it’s all a bit warm and fuzzy.
