Unfortunately it all has the feel of someone ticking boxes at the funding stage.
Fitting neither the gritty urban drama mould, nor the tongue-in-cheek one leaves audiences laughing when they’re not meant to be.
Issues of assimilation and acceptance are raised but feebly scripted.
Ash's fusion of beats and vintage Bollywood soundtracks could have been a neat key for dealing with some worthwhile issues, except it sounds about 15 years out of date.
It's all here -- arranged marriages, racist cops, the hero's love for a white girl - but it's all been done before and better.
Almost everything in the film is pretty familiar...it does, however, have, a likable hero in James Floyd.
Capturing the energy of club culture on screen is notoriously difficult. This stale production shouldn’t even have tried.
