Parabelo
Carnival comes to the Festival in a performance of seductive physicality. The Grupo Corpo dancers stamp their feet and sway their hips with snake-like fluidity in this ravishing creation straight off the white sandy beaches of Rio.
Onqotô
A soundtrack of driving Latin funk provides the musical backdrop for an eccentric debate over the paternity of the universe. It's a curious competition between the idea of a great primordial explosion and a witty notion that the cosmos was conceived as a weird form of rivalry between Rio's two main football teams.

Grupo Corpo's unashamed mission seems to be to tempt the rhythm of life out of us all.
It's not entirely clear what is going on, but it is definitely hugely enjoyable.
It is the exuberance of perderneiras's choreography...which has the crowd roaring with approval.
Athletic as these dancers are, it sounds painful.
The rapturous applause of the rest of the audience certainly puts my harsh opinions in the minority.
