Slava's Snowshow

Slava's Snowshow

The phenonema returns to Scotland

Slava’s Snowshow has taken the world by storm, delighting and touching theatregoers in over 90 cities across the globe and transforming sensible adults into awe-struck children. It has been lavished with critical praise and awards including Olivier, Time Out & Drama Desk awards.

A global phenomenon Slava’s Snowshow is unlike anything you have seen before – a show combining hilarity and poignancy with stunning spectacle and breathtaking images. This unmistakably unique comedy masterpiece now comes back to Scotland.

The ensemble cast of clowns use water, cobwebs, bubbles and dry ice to dazzling effect; a world of wonder in which a bed becomes a boat, a web of cotton envelops the audience and one tiny piece of paper begins a blinding, heart-stopping snowstorm that engulfs an awestruck audience in a blizzard of sparkling snowflakes.

Slava’s Snowshow touches the heart and the funny bone, packed with laughter and wonder for the whole family.

The critical consensus

All in all Slava’s Snowshow is an absolute joy, sure to linger long in the memory of those who see it, and well deserving of its global success. And if you haven’t seen it before, and hadn’t planned on catching it this time around while it’s playing Scotland, why on earth not? Get yourself along. You won’t regret it.

The heart-squeezing wonderment of Slava’s Snowshow hasn’t melted with time.

While the on-stage action is clever, charming and heart-warming, it’s the falling snow, the huge artificial cobweb, the hurtling snowstorm and the giant balls that those in the stalls will remember most – although I suspect those in the rear dress and upper circle might leave fully entertained, but with a mild sense of frustration.

Colourful and exciting but at times hollow and weightless.

Polunin has carefully crafted a classical piece of pageantry that can be updated for contemporary audiences without compromising its credibility.

*****Callum, TV Bomb, 20/10/2011

A rare treat for adults and children alike, Slava’s Snowshow will no doubt continue to mesmerize and enchant audiences worldwide for many years to come.
