The heart-squeezing wonderment of Slava’s Snowshow hasn’t melted with time.
While the on-stage action is clever, charming and heart-warming, it’s the falling snow, the huge artificial cobweb, the hurtling snowstorm and the giant balls that those in the stalls will remember most – although I suspect those in the rear dress and upper circle might leave fully entertained, but with a mild sense of frustration.
Colourful and exciting but at times hollow and weightless.
Polunin has carefully crafted a classical piece of pageantry that can be updated for contemporary audiences without compromising its credibility.
A rare treat for adults and children alike, Slava’s Snowshow will no doubt continue to mesmerize and enchant audiences worldwide for many years to come.
