The critical consensus

With unexpected humour thrown in – Mr Chuckles meets Abigail’s Party – and updated references including the recent city riots, Morris’ play does not shy away from either national issues, such as institutionalised unemployment, or the respect due to each individual, and for that reason alone it deserves to reach a wider audience.
