Mayhem ensues, with romantic intrigue, mistaken identity and a runaway horse... Following his huge success with The Madness of George III in the West End, Christopher Luscombe directs a solid gold cast of comic actors in what is surely the must-see comedy of 2012.
A missed opportunity.
It does have a charm and wit and Pinero’s use of language is certainly exemplary in places. Whether or not the production will be a success when it canters home to the West End is altogether less certain.
Patricia Hodge and Nicholas Le Prevost shine in classic Victorian farce about a day at the races.
