Christmas is a time for fun and laughter and Aladdin has all of that in bucket loads. Grab yourself a ticket and pop along to the Kings Theatre for the best night out of the season.
Shiny, snappy and energetic, Aladdin at the King’s sacrifices some of the traditional interaction of a panto, but remains a highly satisfying production.
Aladdin is a magical punchy and entertaining adventure (if a little short, at 2 hours inc interval) for all the family.
It could be more beautiful and its pace could be more gracious, but this is irresistible, glittering Christmas fun.
Verdict: The King’s Edinburgh triumvirate of Andy Gray, Allan Stewart and Grant Stott are back and better than ever.
Overall this is probably the most enjoyable night at the theatre to be had in Edinburgh. Be sure not to miss out.
It’s a frothy, fun night out and sure to entertain the kids. The sets, special effects, acting, dancing and jokes are impressive as always. Adults in the audience might find themselves slightly disappointed, especially if they’ve visited this panto in previous years, by the failure to deliver sufficient plot or emotional punch, but it’s panto, and these three panto pros have been at it for some time.
