Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, it's off to the Panto we go! Read more …
The festive season wouldn't be complete without Edinburgh's biggest family show, seen by over 80,000 people each year.
Featuring top-class production values, stunning sets and fabulous costumes, this huge extravaganza will keep the whole family laughing long after the curtain comes down. Panto at its best!
The end result is an object lesson in how to do big-budget panto and, best of all, very funny indeed.
The King’s Theatre strive to give panto goers a five star show – they are certainly doing something right, because this panto is a certified gold star winner.
If you fancy some daft and rollicking panto fun, laced with idiotic tongue-twisters, spectacular effects only loosely linked to the story, and the odd decent topical joke, then this latest Q-dos panto at the King’s is the show for you.
This fast-paced routine shows off the ad-libbing, laugh a minute, comic genius of Barrowman, Stewart, Gray and Stott brilliantly.
They’ve called it the fairest panto in all of the land – and oh yes it is!
Those looking for a straight rendition of Snow White or clean, wholesome family fare might want to venture elsewhere; fans of Stewart, Gray and Stott, along with those looking for a good night out, will find much to revel in here.
It's a fine show with a good cast and plenty of production value.
The success of the show may lie largely in its predictability, but this year it feels as though the cast, writers Stewart and Michael Harrison and the creative team have tightened everything up a few notches.
