This inspirational story of self-belief and determination is performed live on stage by a phenomenal cast of actors and musicians, celebrating an ordinary man with an extraordinary talent who became a superstar on a world stage.
A decent evening’s entertainment although if you’re expecting a compilation of Tom Jones’ greatest hits you may be disappointed.
The show ends with Jones' breakout hit, the build-up to which is a tease, despite there being nary a pair of knickers in sight. Given the show's subject, that really is unusual.
What really lets the show down is a criminally abrupt and crashing gear change when Jones finally makes it big and the story is abandoned in favour of a boogie with Tom’s greatest hits done in tribute-act mode.
