Following sold out seasons in Tampa, Texas and Tokyo, the multi Grammy and Drama Desk Award nominated Frank Wildhorn’s Wonderland receives its UK and European première in this brand new British production. Read more …
While the songs retain a poppy infectiousness that allows for a boy band pastiche, power ballads and everything inbetween, this is an Alice for the Women's March generation.
The show just isn't individual enough to have classic written all over it, and I'm afraid I can't really see it lasting much beyond its UK tour.
Wonderland is one of those productions which deserves more. A seed of intelligence is smothered in heavy dialogue and bland incarnations of iconic characters.
This is a new musical so you might not be singing along, but it’s a safe bet you’ll be singing a song or two on the way out.
A musical, full of wonder and magic, that will transport you away from the worries of everyday life, if only for two hours.
There is a lot here to enjoy, but relentlessly overstating the self-realisation message actually serves as a reminder that we’ve come a long way since this particular message needed such a ramming home.
This is a bold, colourful production, bursting with an energetic, sharply-focused cast.
Despite the best efforts of a plucky cast, this show stands as evidence that in the real world, bad musicals can and do happen, and sometimes just can’t be saved.
Lewis Carroll's classic is abused by lazy writing, while the cast retain some respect.
In Wonderland, the cast is required to spend too much time affirming how “completely bonkers” they all are, to increasingly unappealing effect.
Wonderland is a musical almost entirely without redeeming features.
While this is a colourful spectacle with a fine cast, the material is just too in your face and the sentiment too forced to have any impact.
Wonderland is completely bonkers and absolutely brilliant- guaranteed to put a smile on your face!
