In almost every way this is a vital, modern classic.
Rarely do you see a production so fully-formed, so shorn of rough edges. It may lack the intensity of drama some seek in their theatre, prizing visual impact and story flow, but it achieves everything it sets out to.
In short, this is a brilliant and faultless production from start to finish.
Remains a beautifully staged, complex piece.
Whether or not one is familiar with the novel, this production really does fall into that rare must-see category.
Ultimately, it is Haddon and Stephens’s controlled-yet-emotive portrait of Christopher, and the rendering of him by a fine actor such as Reid, rather than its flamboyant stage effects, that account for the success of this play.
With countless five star reviews, seven Olivier Awards and five Tony Awards it isn't news that National Theatre's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is an incredible piece of theatre. However, I'll say it anyway- go and see this masterpiece!
