Sasha Regan's All Male The Mikado

Following the phenomenon which was Matthew Bourne’s all-male Swan Lake, here’s another thrilling all-male version of a much-loved classic in the form of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado. Read more …

The Mikado, arguably, the most popular opera ever written, follows the hugely successful all-male productions of HMS Pinafore and the award winning The Pirates of Penzance - winner of Best Off West End Production at The What’s On Stage awards.

The critical consensus

If you want a full-bloodied Mikado with all the frills, this might not be as thrilling as required. But in terms of playing with the original in an inventive and consistent way, then this hits the spot.

Sacha Regan’s All-Male Mikado is a jolly jamboree full of boisterous (should that be boysterous?) infectious fun. A toe wiggling tonic!
