Everything about this staging screams amateur and I'm astonished that they're charging premium prices for tickets. Like many, Grease was my first introduction to musicals, and it is so disappointing to watch this butchering of a classic.
A production which is as well greased as it should be, but which doesn’t reach the heights it might.
That it has energy and vibrant physicality is without question. The description of the ultimate feel-good musical is open to debate. Perhaps you need to be a huge fan of the film to truly appreciate the show.
Disappointing if you want a proper musical, or a stage version of the film, but if you’re just looking for the songs being sung live, you’ll go home happy.
If Grease is the word, this one could use a bit more lubrication.
Complete with all the show tunes from the original, it’s hard not to love this rendition of a classic tale of teenage love.
David Gilmore's revisitation of his 1993 London production is a dazzling depiction of teenage dreams, where even the bad girls and boys are good.
Sometimes looks a little uninspired.
