It's good fun and very silly.
This production of Sleeping Beauty was a huge let-down as it felt very mass produced. I'm not opposed to change but this year The King's panto has lost its heart.
I guess it's a testament to the success of this Sleeping Beauty that it just about won me over from my fortress of cynicism, and even made me laugh a few times.
The whole show emerges as a classic spectacular big-city panto, confident of where it comes from, and – more or less – of where it’s going.
The weak structure becomes apparent in the wake of moments of real joy.
