Benidorm

On tour

ITV’s award-winning comedy celebrates over a decade of all-inclusive hilarity, having followed the ensemble cast of holiday makers and staff for ten series since it first broadcast in 2007. Read more …

Litten has now written an all new set of Alicante escapades for the much-loved cast members as they swap sangria for the stage - after a quick spruce up at the Blow ‘n’ Go!

The critical consensus

In what might well be an extended metaphor for Brexit’s imminent tsunami of Little Britain-ism writ large, this is a bawdy reminder of life as a saucy seaside postcard that looks destined to make audiences wish they were very much here.

****(*)Neil Cooper, Coffee-Table Notes, 18/09/2018

Boldly brash – and brazen with it – the live musical version of ITV hit Benidorm combines plenty of recognition for the show’s fans with the kind of comedy that would make a panto dame blush.

****(*)Thom Dibdin, All Edinburgh Theatre, 20/09/2108

The scenography – which spins around to reveal the familiar foyer, swimming pool and Neptune's Bar from the series – is by far the most creative theatrical effect on display and while the production generates a genial warmth between audience and performers, the sentimental yet engaging characterisation of the TV episodes is replaced by a cynical cash-in.

**(*)(*)(*)Gareth K Vile, The List, 21/09/2018

Although subtlety is in short supply, this is a show that delivers exactly what it says on the tin, with a generous heart, and bags of skill.

****(*)Joyce McMillan, The Scotsman, 22/09/2018

As TV to stage adaptations goes, this is the perfect example of how it should be done.

****(*)Lauren Humphreys, The Reviews Hub, 04/02/2019

Darren Little has created something really special in Benidorm and this stage show is the perfect way to see it off.
