A story centered on the friendship between a boy and a dolphin whose tail was lost in a crab trap.
A good shout if your kids like this sort of thing, otherwise best head to your local aquarium.
A film as slick, charming and eager-to-please as a SeaWorld cetacean.
Dolphin Tale deserves credit for sidestepping into darker waters.
Earnest family drama is strictly for animal lovers.
Two hours of redemptive hugs, triumphant whoops and tearful smiles later we learn that pinning a tail on a dolphin is, on the scale of human achievement, not far behind winning the Nobel Peace Prize and discovering a cure for cancer. Well done everyone!
Dolphin Tale should do wonders for the sales of Kleenex (other brands are available).
The only thing distinguishing this from a TV movie is the decision to film it in rubbish 3D.
All good, positive stuff; just a pity the plot piles on the angst instead of keeping things simple.
