Follows two infamous London gangsters, Mickey Mannock and Ray Collishaw. Read more …
Both men are top of the food chain when their world is turned upside down as they lose a shipment of the Russian Mafia's cocaine.
The script is repetitive, cliché-ridden, uncouth and, in its co-opting of the English fighting spirit, actually offensive.
Basically rubbish, often chucklesome.
The script becomes clumsier and cornier as it goes on, and Harper's direction, while competent, lacks the skill to disguise his many attempts to wrongfoot the viewer.
The story is woefully familiar...but the British crooks are redeemed by their national pride, their knowledge of military history and their affection for language.
Not even the formidable presence of Charles Dance can salvage a script this woeful.
