With Cage as a harried cop, Cusack as a serial killer and 50 Cent as a pimp, we're assuming the casting department kicked off early on this one. Still, there's plenty in this taut thriller for you to stick around for, not least the reuniting of the Con Air duo.
A competent if unremarkable serial killer thriller.
It’s very thorough in its depiction of Alaska’s strip bars, but apparently not nearly as interested in character or psychology.
It doesn’t break new ground but is tense, atmospheric and creepy.
There is some good Prime Suspect-like tension here, with a neat cat-and-mouse psychological gamble with a certain piece of jewellery – and solid performances from Hudgens, Cage and Cusack.
Walker never attempts to make it look like fun, and Anchorage at night resembles an anteroom of hell.
The film operates without fear of the commonplace: the script is by-the-numbers, too.
The Frozen Ground delivers a few chills and a little excitement but it doesn't quite earn its classification as a thriller.
