Much better than the am-dram washout it could so easily have been, there's nuggets of truth and wisdom in this lo-fi drama.
For the most part this is just terribly dull.
Nothing remains but a vague sense of wasted time.
The pace picks up towards the end, but whether you’ll still care by that point is another matter.
This is a minor-key film: delicate, sober and thoughtful.
The problem is that the protagonists are so unengaging. They're primarily elderly theatre folk who radiate complacency and smugness.
Jon Sanders's improvised and occasionally annoying mood piece has something of the air of a Joanna Hogg.
