The critical consensus

Given everything that has been happening across Europe this past summer, it couldn’t be a more timely or poignant film.

The Oscar-nominated film about Georgian farmers caught up in a bloody civil war finally gets its much-deserved UK release.

****(*)Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian, 17/09/2015

The funniest and most profound film about war since Dr Strangelove.

Sophie Monks Kaufman, Little White Lies, 16/09/2015

A melancholy morality tale that beautifully illustrates the folly of conflict and blind hatred.
