When the Davison family comes under attack during their wedding anniversary getaway, the gang of mysterious killers soon learns that one of victims harbors a secret talent for fighting back.
For horror nerds only.
While it doesn’t defy genre conventions like Cabin In The Woods, Wingard’s tale of a dysfunctional family under siege is an outrageously entertaining crowd-pleaser — if you have the stomach for it.
You’re Next’s retread of The Strangers (and the French original Ils aka Them) arrives too low on originality to be anything other than an ordeal to sit through, and for all the wrong reasons.
It’s very low budget but made with some flair.
There’s not much new in Adam Wingard’s home invasion horror, but it’s efficient and effective enough.
Director Adam Wingard's previous film was called A Horrible Way to Die, which fairly encapsulates the spirit of his new one.
Horror fans may indulge this movie; I found it derivative and forced.
Why is all this carnage taking place? Ask a silly question and the film provides a silly answer, but it has some truly creepy moments early on, as well as an authentic ruthlessness and some black humour. Very much école de Wes Craven.
A deranged and bloody romp.
