(No Stars) At all costs stay away.
If you just want to look with admiration and Johnny and/or Angelina – and why wouldn’t you? – this offers the full scenic tour, but it’s one of those frustrating almost-good films which never really catches fire.
The Tourist is as fake as the ersatz cigarette Depp smokes, and its attempt to bottle the spirit of old-school romance – think Grant and Hepburn in Charade – fails utterly.
Preposterous tosh, and hugely enjoyable
The Tourist is slick but not without its problems.
The Tourist left me shaken but not unduly stirred.
It won't set pulses racing but The Tourist is a decent enough festive frolic.
It’s an exercise in taste for this privileged team — such exquisite taste, darling, in everything but their script.
Hot stars in a hot spot - but this Tourist is a trap, striving to conjure a mood of suave romanticism but feeling rushed, harried and workmanlike.
Unfortunately, the funny side of the film is abandoned quickly, and the muddled plot disappears bubblingly into the lagoon.
This is a more old-fashioned movie, but done so awkwardly it never rises about the level of bad pastiche.
The Tourist is a vehicle that was built for comfort when it should have been built for speed.
The pacing could be timed with a sundial, and even the throwaway lines are clunky and false.
Highly enjoyable rubbish.
