The film has hugely fun moments, nice signature Marvel banter, strong performances and some impressive CGI, but we would expect nothing less from the comic book studio. Unfortunately I had expected a whole lot more and was left a tad underwhelmed.

Cumberbatch fits Doctor Strange like a pair of snap-tight surgical gloves, in yet another MCU triumph. Beautifully designed, brilliantly executed.
While the kaleidoscope visuals may constitute risk, the film fails to provide a character who does the same; perhaps future sequels will add to Strange’s repertoire, like how the Iron Man sequels added to Stark’s.
Clearly, Marvel still has rabbits to pull from the hat.
