Under Ashley Page’s leadership everything Scottish Ballet does seems to be characterised by vibrant energy, brilliant coherence and a seemingly effortless visual elegance. It is little surprise, therefore, that the company’s autumn season — a trio of pieces spanning 63 years, and collectively entitled Geometry and Grace — achieves those most difficult of things, diversity and continuity.
A triple bill to savour and cherish.
Anyone who doubted artistic director Ashley Page’s positive influence on Scottish Ballet need look no further than the strong, bright and lively triple bill the company is touring this autumn.
Named Geometry and Grace, Scottish Ballet's mixed bill goes from the spiky classicism of Frederick Ashton's Scènes de Ballet to a brand new work by Val Caniparoli. It's a strongly danced, contrasting programme.
