The exhibition features works from 47 pupils who attended The Creative Residency 2011, an annual initiative offered to S4 students studying Art and Design and/or Music.The Creative Residency offers the pupils the chance to work on a chosen discipline during an intense one-week residency held at Kilbowie Outdoor Centre, Oban.The disciplines include: Fine Art, Digital Photography, Music, Print-making, Film-making, Textiles and Jewellery Design.The exhibition also features the work produced from a series of Master Classes offered to S5 pupils in Print-making, Textiles and Jewellery Design.
The theme for this year’s Creative Residency and Master Classes was ‘Transformations’.The theme not only reflects the idea of the artwork’s transformation from initial conception to a polished, accomplished final piece but also considers the journey taken by the young people throughout their learning experience.
