In Moscow, five young people lead the charge against an alien race who have attacked Earth via our power supply.
It is visually impressive but plodding and silly.
Burns with all the intellectual ferocity of a five-watt bulb.
Had the filmmakers been honest, they’d have called it The Darkest 89 Minutes. An ordeal.
It’s still plodding and goofy, and the heroes (Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby) are duds, but at least it tickles the eyeballs.
Very cheap and silly-looking.
Fighting for survival is made tricky by the aliens being invisible. A fresh touch in what proves to be a very forgettable production.
Suspense, wit, intelligence and a halfway-decent script are nowhere to be seen.
It's so bad you'll be cheering on the invaders.
[An] embarrassingly feeble script.
One day this will turn up on a cheap TV channel late at night and you will be drunk/over-tired and it will be a blast. It’s that stupid.
Lumbering.
The acting, dialogue and direction are so lame that a lack of visibility is probably a good thing.
