A strong idea that wanders out of focus in the second half. But it never falls apart thanks to Stone, making excellent on her early promise. Power to her.
Arguably the best teen comedy since Clueless, it’s easy to give this one an A. Well, A-.
It’s slickly written, nicely played and, above all, fun without succumbing to preaching or gooey sentiment.
Easy A is actually a cut above the usual high school comedy hijinks thanks to a refreshingly honest approach, uncommonly well written characters and a clutch of superb performances.
A sharp teen comedy about a girl who pretends she isn't a virgin boasts a top-notch performance from Emma Stone.
A high-school comedy that comes on both sassy and cute, dispenses snappy one-liners with abandon, and will likely be embraced by adults who can still recall the pains of being pure at heart.
Easy A is an admirable movie because, along with all the smart lines, it offers a strong idea, logically worked out. It's about how far you go to establish a value for yourself (or a "profile" in Facebook and Twitter country), before deciding that some things are nobody's goddammed business but yours. It's also a movie with a heart.
I loved this movie - and its heroine.
The result is a film with nothing to claim as its own except a wasted opportunity to showcase what its star might really do in a leading role more worthy of her talents.
This is the best high-school comedy since Mean Girls.
Not since Mean Girls and Election have the trials of a teenage school girl provided such entertainment.
Cleverly developed and sharply observant of high-school life.
Easy A is classier than its peers.
