Concussion

Concussion

Biography, Drama, Sport

In Pittsburgh, accomplished pathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu uncovers the truth about brain damage in football players who suffer repeated concussions in the course of normal play.

The critical consensus

While this doesn’t detract from Dr Omalu’s towering achievements, it does lend his story an uneasy, jingoistic tone at odds with his own liberal outlook.

**(*)(*)(*)Geoffrey MacNab, The Independent, 11/02/2016

Based on a true story, this drama about the doctor who challenged the NFL with evidence that the game is giving its players brain damage is shallow and unsatisfying.

Will Smith saves the day – and the film – as a whistle-blowing doctor in this true-life American Football drama.
