Even if it needed one last push to make it truly exceptional, there’s a lot to enjoy here. And Soderbergh once again attracts a cast it’s a pleasure to spend time with.
One more job… Soderbergh executes his cine-comeback with élan, aided by winning A-team work from Tatum, Driver and Craig.
The script, the direction and the performances work in concert like a souped-up muscle car.
Daniel Craig joins a knockout ensemble in Steven Soderbergh's hugely enjoyable hillbilly heist flick.
It is not going to win him any Oscars but Soderbergh certainly appears to have recovered his zest for filmmaking.
Steven Soderbergh comes out of retirement with a stylish, madcap heist movie buoyed by superbly droll performances from Channing Tatum, Adam Driver and Daniel Craig.
Expertly made but strangely uninvolving.
Channing Tatum and Adam Driver are joined by an almost unrecognisable Daniel Craig in this warm and witty crime caper.
As with the Ocean’s movies it’s the camaraderie rather than the crime that’s the selling point and Soderbergh’s cast are a blast.
