Christmas Eve, 1843: the cruel money-lender Ebenezer Scrooge is confronted by the ghost of his former partner, Jacob Marley, who warns Scrooge that he faces damnation unless he mends his ways. Can Scrooge be redeemed? All will be decided by the three spirits who visit him in the course of the night.

A gorgeous, lavish, traditional production.
It is a good looking and sounding production overall with justice done to the musical telling of the classic story.
A confident, assured and, in Scrooge’s final, energetic transformation, totally heart-warming staging of a justly celebrated work of musical theatre.
Thankfully, Richard Baron’s production makes a good fist of restoring some of the darker, spookier edges of Dickens’s famous morality tale.
