A gloriously amoral piece of cut-glass froth so magnificently unlikely that evidence of its two-faced bid for credibility would almost certainly never stand up in court.
While there are certainly troubling moments, in the end they give way to something a little more conventional – if consistently enjoyable.

Although Helen Bradbury as Cecily and Sam Frenchum as Bruce do their best to make the drama work, we’re left with a sense of an Agatha Christie story lost in time somewhere between 1920 and 1950.
Love from a Stranger is a fine example of how the genre can be done right without flash and firmly solidifies Christie's title as the Queen of Mystery.
Christie rarely puts a foot wrong, and as a piece of ‘good, old-fashioned’ entertainment it is undoubtedly a winner.
Agatha Christie thriller is less than thrilling.
