Another day, another dolour for our forensic detective.
Who was she? What's the story? Where were you?
And why, with his epicurean dreams of being a gourmet chef, does he spend his life filleting so much human misery...
See you? Why so obsessed with detectives anyway? Your TV's full of them!
He's seen it all before, you've seen it all before.
Move along now....
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a piece of theatre so deliberately, disturbingly unresolved; but I’ve also rarely seen a fine actor so energised by a text that knows no boundaries, and digs so deeply into our shared culture of violence as thrill and spectacle, in the space of just 50 minutes.
Original and gripping.
This is a strong play to end on for A Play, a Pie and a Pint, and a strong indication of the interesting, challenging theatre that company will hopefully continue to produce in the years to come.
