‘Casablanca, the Gin Joint Cut’ returns to Òran Mór after delighting audiences from London to Paris to Barbados (not to forget Dunoon) and garnering rave reviews along the way. Read more …
A lovingly disrespectful homage to one of the classic films of all time, Morag Fullarton’s fast paced distillation will have you raise a Bogart style eyebrow, shed a Bergman-like tear and drown out the Nazis with a rousing chorus of the Marseillaise. Set in French Morocco, 1941, a hotbed of corruption, teeming with Nazis and refugees desperate to flee war torn Europe, Casablanca interweaves a tale of wartime conflict with political and romantic intrigue.
With original “superb multi-tasking” cast of Gavin Mitchell, Jimmy Chisholm, Clare Waugh.. and a little extra to get you in the mood – we start the evening with Jerry Burns performing songs from the 1940’s movies.

Superb, cheeky take on classic 1942 drama.
Fast-paced, inventive and gloriously silly, this slick farce also manages, somehow, to tell the story of love, espionage and the fight for liberty. Six years on from its premiere, this much-loved spoof still has its audiences cheering it to the rafters.
And without being overt about it, there is something just a little timely – maybe unsettlingly so – in a love story set against the rise of a racist and fascist regime.
