Comes A Bright Day is a romantic thriller set during the armed robbery of one of London's most exclusive jewellers. Sometimes funny, often dark, always captivating and never what you expect.
With all the style and depth of a luxury fashion ad, it’s an elegant let down.
Roberts turns in an interesting performance, but the film is treacly and contrived.
Some pleasant eccentric touches don't hide the fact that this is over-long and under-cooked.
Ultimately, Comes a Bright Day offers insufficient excitement and – like its incompetent robbers – once it battens down those hatches the film has nowhere to go.
