A worried new teacher has to juggle a pregnant wife and a class of children on a road trip to the National 'Song for Christmas' Competition.
The kids have their moments, Tennant is game but Wootton’s puppy-dog persona is just about ready to be put down.
Festive cheer will be in short supply for anyone who endures Nativity 2: Danger In The Manger!, a shambolic family offering that grates from start to finish.
Talk about traumatising.
Nativity 2 is overlong and idiotic.
Tennant, who also plays Mr Peterson’s snooty twin brother, has the rare distinction of being awful twice.
Even this charming cast struggle to bring life to an overlong story that has all the sizzle of leftover turkey.
The pupils are given loads of kids-say-the-funniest-things dialogue, there's the traditional "audition montage" and the whole thing is like a particularly unsubtle panto.
Ho, ho, ho? No, no, no!
It hurts to remember.
